Kinneret Council on Aging provides life-enhancing services that help low-income seniors live with dignity, independence, and connection.
Through a wide range of programs, we support the daily physical, emotional, and social needs of over 300 independent residents living at Kinneret Apartments, beyond the walls of the buildings and into the Central Florida community.
We offer breakfast twice weekly, including coffee, breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruit, yogurt, and more. Breakfast is more than nourishment as it provides a social setting for our residents to engage and socialize, starting their day together.
Residents also have access to a food pantry, which delivers a grocery bag filled with meat, additional protein, fresh fruit, and vegetables each week.
Fresh bread is provided weekly, and a subsidized hot meal program is offered five days a week.
Residents can participate in two exercise classes a week, as well as a chair ballet class once a week.
Additional wellness opportunities have included talks on health and safety, attending the UCF Healthy Aging Fair, and a monthly on-site nutrition class.
KCOA has partnered with UCF Health, Mobile Health Unit, a state-of-the-art mobile unit with impressive medical capabilities. Clinicians are providing ongoing early diagnoses, health assessments, monitoring, and health and nutrition education.
